Confusion and Clarity

WARNINGI don’t know about you, but confusion is my north star. It is the one thing that gives me the most clarity, that lets me know that I’m on the right path. The more confused I am, the less comfort I have in any given situation. That discomfort ultimately drives me from my situation into something that’s better. Well, or different at least. Into something that makes me stretch and grow, which I never want to stop doing. For this reason, I just love confusion.

Now, some would regard me as restless. Maybe I am. Others would describe me as a risk taker. Possibly. I just know that learning, moving, and changing are the core of what drives this girl, and each of these confuses the hell out of me. I’m completely clear on this point.

Clarity!

Here’s the thing. If you find yourself scratching your head over something, or constantly confusionracking your brain about a situation, there’s probably something wrong with it, right? You wouldn’t be scratching otherwise. You can literally be clear about the fact that things have to change. Being clear about how to change them can be more challenging, but the confusion itself can raise some pretty necessary red flags.

Those of you who know me well know that I’ve been confused a lot over the years, but I’d also like to think that you’d say I’ve found clarity on what works and what doesn’t as well. All of this was born from some period of mass confusion that drove me from a dreaded comfort zone.

DIRECTIONSI’m laughing to myself right now, because this is probably the most confusing blog I’ve written to date. I may be the only one that it makes any sense to whatsoever, but somehow I doubt that.

Anyone else out there who finds clarity through confusion? Anyone who’s major life decisions came out of a period of complete mix-up?

Anybody who is clear on the fact that they have no earthly idea what I’m talking about?

Okay, so I may not be expressing myself to the best of my ability (a brave admission for a writer, don’t you think?), but I believe that you get my general drift. If you’re confused right now about a situation in your life, you can be clear on the fact that something is wrong with it. Being brave enough to dive into that confusion, and to listen to it with a grateful heart, can bring forth incredible insights and prepare you for a wealth of opportunity.

WISDOM

My advice, for what it’s worth? Embrace your confusion. Hell . . . dance with it. Twirl it around until you’re both exhausted and collapse in a marathon heap on the living room floor. I guarantee that when you open your eyes, you’ll have a clearer vision of what needs to be done next – and I don’t just mean repainting the ceiling.

Confusion and clarity. Moon and stars. Yin and yang.
